Violence Protection Structure
This project funds the construction of a pavilion-like structure in Ross Lake Park. The space will be used to host programs designed and supervised by the local police department, providing a safe and structured environment for community engagement.
Why?
- Promote recreational activities for youth age 5-18
- Foster positive relationships between youth and local police
- Provides an alternative to unsupervised activities
- Increased participation leads to:

- decreased crime, particularly theft, violence, and home invasion
- more purchases at local businesses
- greater mental and physical health

- Also makes Beaverton a more attractive location for new families to live, work, and play, which bolsters the economy
Structure
- 80′ x 100′ structure
- Restrooms and changing rooms
- Basketball and volleyball court, space for indoor and outdoor movie nights, game days, an indoor skating rink during the winter, and much more

Use
- Police department will host and supervise programs
- Pavilion will be publicly available for year-round use
- Will also serve as a meeting location for community groups
