Utility Billing Clerk Position available immediately for the City of Beaverton. Part-time 20 hours per week $16-$18 an hour to start depending on experience.
Duties include: serving residents courteously and expeditiously in the processing of payments, including bi-monthly water/sewer/trash bills, waiting on residents and helping office staff prepare quarterly newsletter. Working with DPW staff to coordinate water shut-off and maintenance work orders. Answer phones, filing and balancing of cash receipts drawer.
Qualifications required: HS Diploma; 3-5 years’ experience working in an office environment; excellent customer service skills; basic math and cash receipting skills. Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency preferred. Flexible work hours between the hours of 7:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday. DPW Technician Position available immediately for the City of Beaverton. Full time position Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm while being required to be on-call one week a month. Starting pay between $20 – $21 an hour depending on experience. Full benefit package including health/dental/vision, retirement, vacation, sick and holiday pay.
Duties include: serving the residents of the city with water/sewer main break; mowing: snowplowing; street maintenance; vehicle maintenance; minor plumbing and electrical projects; and various other dam and infrastructure projects. The reading, maintenance and installation of water meters; flushing, winterizing and repairs of hydrants. Maintain the sewer and storm drain water collection system; manholes and lift stations. Performing landscaping tasks including grass clipping.
Qualification required: HS Diploma; 3 years of experience as a semi-skilled maintenance worker; strong mechanical aptitude abilities; snow plowing experience; strong team player when working with co-workers; effectively expressing solutions to various problems; maintaining and monitoring safe water levels at the dam and compliance standards at the sewer lagoon; the ability to service vehicles, pumps and various motorized equipment; a basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical skills; welding, machine shop and carpentry skills a plus. Possession of a CDL-B license upon hire or able to obtain within three months. Must possess and adhere to all safety protocols when working with machinery and project management. Applicants must obtain the water and sewer licenses within 2 years and those individuals who possess a S3, D3 or L2 license will be given first priority.
